Coach Ruben Amorim has just confirmed that MU currently does not have a real number 1 goalkeeper despite signing a contract with Senne Lammens on the last day of the summer transfer window.
Altay Bayindir has started every Premier League game so far. However, the Turkish goalkeeper has often faltered, making errors in goals conceded against Arsenal and Burnley.

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is out of contract next year and Manchester United have been working with his representatives recently, as Bryan Mbeumo is also one of their clients.
To convince Maignan to join Old Trafford, the Manchester team needs to act soon, offering an attractive salary to compete with Chelsea.
Next year, MU is expected to sell two other goalkeepers, Tom Heaton (who has turned 40), along with Andre Onana, who is currently on loan at Trabzonspor.
The Manchester club are also planning to invest in a top-class central midfielder, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba identified as a potential addition.
MU cannot proceed with this deal in the summer of 2025 because they cannot sell Casemiro. However, the Brazilian player's contract will expire at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Removing Casemiro - who is receiving the highest salary at Old Trafford - will partly free up the salary fund, helping MU have more resources to find a replacement.

Currently, Casemiro, Mainoo and Ugarte are the three real midfielders in the squad. Coach Amorim pulling captain Bruno Fernandes to play deep is only a temporary solution.
In the long term, MU still needs a young, potential player familiar with the Premier League environment to take on midfield duties like Carlos Baleba.
