The training course will take place over 6 weeks, divided into two sessions in May and October 2025, with the participation of 39 fisheries management officers from 9 countries in the Asia -Pacific region. Trainees will be updated on their knowledge and skills in implementing fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance activities; fisheries management work to combat IUU fishing by experts from the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, Nha Trang University and a number of invited lecturers from other countries. Trainees will also participate in practical activities at the laboratory of Nha Trang University; practice data collection and participate in inspecting fishing vessels at Hon Ro Fishing Port. Thereby, helping fisheries management officers to be able to apply knowledge and practical skills on sustainable fisheries, related laws and regulations; improve monitoring, inspection and control capacity to combat IUU fishing; and at the same time enhance cooperation in the field of fisheries management in the region.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of completion of the training course to 100% of students.
