The unexpected destination of MU striker

AC Milan are planning to sign Joshua Zirkzee from MU to replace Santiago Gimenez, who is in poor form.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport , AC Milan's board are seriously considering signing Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United, as the club is not satisfied with Santiago Gimenez's form. The Mexican striker has yet to score after 9 Serie A matches.

Gimenez's performance is said to not meet the tactical requirements of Serie A. Therefore, recruiting another striker like Zirkzee is considered an effective "firefighting" solution for Milan.

Zirkzee has been out of favour at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, having made just five appearances – all from the bench. The Dutch striker previously shone for Bologna, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, helping the club qualify for the 2023/24 European Cup.

Milan tried to sign Zirkzee in the summer but failed to reach an agreement. Now, the red and black team are considering a six-month loan offer with an option to buy, hoping to take advantage of the 24-year-old's Serie A experience and his ability as a wall-keeper and header.

Zirkzee is considered the right striker to link up with striker Rafael Leao, thanks to his ability to control and pass the ball flexibly. If the deal is successful, this could be a move worth waiting for to help Milan truly compete for the Serie A championship in the 2025/26 season.
