Vinh Duc General Hospital holds international consultations and treats foreign patients

(QNO) - For more than a week, Vinh Duc General Hospital (located in Dien Ban town) has received and treated many cases involving foreigners, including complicated surgeries requiring high expertise.

Specifically, a male patient of German nationality had a traffic accident that resulted in a closed fracture and underwent surgery using the bone fusion method under an intensifier screen.

At the same time, a French patient had a herniated disc at the L2/3 spine compressing the cauda equina, causing numbness and weakness in both legs and urinary disorders. The patient was treated with endoscopic spinal surgery to relieve nerve compression.

Both patients recovered well after surgery. In both cases, Vinh Duc General Hospital consulted and had a consultation with the patients' doctors in France.

In addition to surgical cases performed at the unit, Vinh Duc General Hospital also coordinates with international insurance to develop the best treatment plan for foreign patients.

This week, a British female patient fell and collapsed her vertebrae. After being treated by doctors at Vinh Duc General Hospital, the international guarantee department made efforts to connect directly with the patient's insurance in the UK to provide timely support.

The plan to take the patient to Thailand for treatment as advised by the insurance company was quickly established. A special plane with medical staff flew directly from Thailand to Da Nang International Airport and coordinated with the team of doctors at Vinh Duc General Hospital to take the patient to Thailand for further treatment.
