Factors supporting the stable trend include: reduced trading volume due to limited sales by farmers, along with the return of export orders from major markets such as China and India. However, high inventories at exporting enterprises may limit the price increase in the short term.
International market on June 3, 2025
According to the update from the International Pepper Community (IPC), the global pepper market continued to maintain a stable trend and moved sideways compared to the previous trading session. However, some regions recorded slight fluctuations. Notably, the price of ASTA black pepper in Malaysia decreased by 50 USD/ton to 9,100 USD/ton, while the price of ASTA white pepper remained at 11,850 USD/ton.
In Indonesia, Lampung black pepper prices were stable at USD 7,427/ton, and Muntok white pepper prices were stable at USD 10,125/ton. The Brazilian market did not fluctuate much, with pepper prices remaining at USD 6,650/ton. For Vietnam – the world’s largest pepper exporter – pepper export prices remained stable and increased slightly: 500 g/l black pepper reached USD 6,500/ton, 550 g/l at USD 6,600/ton, and white pepper at USD 9,500/ton.
Overall, the global market showed stability, with a slight decline in Malaysia but not enough to put much pressure on other markets.
