Bestune Pony - super cheap electric car in Vietnam, only 199 million

Bestune Pony mini electric car imported from China, priced at 199 million VND, compact design, 4 seats, 170 km battery, directly competing with Wuling Mini EV.

On the morning of July 10, the electric vehicle brand Bestune, a product branch of the Chinese automobile group First Auto Works (FAW), officially introduced its first two models in the Vietnamese market. Of which, the model that attracted the most attention was the Bestune Pony.

This is a 4-seater mini electric car aimed at urban users, especially young and female customers. According to the distributor, Bestune Pony is imported completely from China and currently has only one version.

Bestune Pony has a 4-seat design with a compact body, overall dimensions of 3,000 x 1,510 x 1,630 mm (length x width x height). The car is equipped with a 20 kW electric motor (equivalent to 27 horsepower), using front-wheel drive.

The battery capacity of 13.8 kWh allows the Bestune Pony mini electric car to travel up to 170 km/charge, equivalent to the high-end version of Wuling Mini EV but slightly lower than VinFast VF 3 (about 210 km).

Maximum speed reaches 100 km/h, suitable for inner-city travel. Full battery charging time takes about 6-8 hours when using AC power, standard in the segment.

The design style of Bestune Pony is youthful and lovely, with soft rounded lines and minimalist design language. The corner LED headlights and 13-inch alloy wheels painted in the same color as the body create a modern yet friendly appearance.

Inside, the Pony's cockpit is designed in a minimalist style, focusing on essential amenities. The car is equipped with a 7-inch central screen, manual air conditioning, electric windows, a basic sound system, along with 2 airbags and a rear camera to assist the driver.

The main material in the interior is hard plastic, accompanied by some youthful color details. The space layout prioritizes practicality and ease of familiarization, suitable for first-time electric vehicle users.

The biggest highlight of Bestune Pony is its selling price of only 199 million VND, equivalent to the market price of the Wuling Mini EV with a range of 170 km. With this price, Pony becomes one of the cheapest 4-seat electric cars in Vietnam today.

However, besides the advantages in price and design, Pony still has some points that need time to prove, including: actual operating quality, battery durability, as well as after-sales network and customer care service, which are advantages of long-standing car brands such as VinFast or Wuling.

The car is distributed with 5 exterior color options including: pastel pink, green, blue, black and white, suitable for the aesthetic tastes of young people, especially female customers.
