Before traveling to Everton's field, Arsenal was ranked 2nd on the rankings with 61 points. The "Gunners" were 12 points behind Liverpool.

Therefore, in each remaining match of the season, they must win all 3 points to maintain their championship chances. However, in the early match of round 31, coach Arteta's team disappointed when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton, a team considered weaker.

Entering the match, Arsenal quickly overwhelmed their opponents and created many opportunities. However, with the home field advantage, Everton still defended steadfastly and with discipline. The goal only came to the "gunners" in the 34th minute.

Starting from a quick counter-attack, Sterling dribbled the ball at speed and passed it to Trossard. The Belgian striker handled the ball skillfully and then fired a low left-footed shot that completely defeated goalkeeper Pickford to open the scoring for Arsenal.

Conceding a goal, the home team rushed forward to attack in search of an equalizer but there were still no more goals in the first half.

The surprise came right at the beginning of the second half, when Everton were awarded a penalty. Lewis Skelly had a reckless tackle on Harrison.

On the 11m mark, Ndiaye easily fooled goalkeeper Raya to score the equalizer 1-1 for Everton.

Having been equalized, the away team was forced to increase the pressure on the opponent's defense to find a goal. However, on a day of unlucky matches, names like Merino and Odegaard were unable to successfully take advantage of the opportunity.

In the end, the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton. This result left Arsenal 11 points behind Liverpool and with one more game to play. Coach Arteta's team has almost run out of chances in the race for the Premier League title this season.
