Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang sent a letter of thanks to cadres, people, and forces working together to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.

The letter reads:

In recent days, storm No. 3 (Yagi) - the biggest storm in many years has caused severe damage to both people and property in the northern provinces, including Hai Duong province. In Hai Duong, thousands of houses, schools, and offices have collapsed and had their roofs blown off; many hectares of rice, vegetables, fruit trees, and trees have been broken, fallen, and flooded; the traffic system, electricity system, and communication system have been paralyzed and damaged... directly affecting the lives, activities, and production of the people.

In such difficult and urgent circumstances, the Party committees, authorities and organizations in the province promptly directed and mobilized forces to participate in response and relief to minimize damage caused by storms and floods. Along with that, Hai Duong has received the attention and direction of the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front; central ministries, departments and branches; the support, sharing and companionship of many provinces, cities, organizations, businesses, individuals and philanthropists inside and outside the province. Thereby contributing to spreading "national love, compatriotism", the spirit of "mutual love"; encouraging, cheering and motivating the people of Hai Duong to overcome difficulties and soon rise up to stabilize their lives.

The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province would like to express our sincere gratitude to the leaders of the Party, State, central agencies, localities, businesses and individuals inside and outside the province for their concern, sharing and accompanying Hai Duong; thank the efforts of all the people of the province, which have helped Hai Duong quickly overcome the damage caused by storms and floods, stabilize life and develop the economy and society.
