Honoring 43 good and excellent press works written about Ho Chi Minh City

Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the Council for selecting and supporting good and excellent press works about Ho Chi Minh City - Director of the City Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan; Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Tang Huu Phong; Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Ngoc Hoi; Chairman of the City Journalists Association Nguyen Tan Phong and leaders of relevant departments, offices and units.

After the impartial and objective working process of the Selection Council, the Organizing Committee unanimously awarded support to 43 excellent works. Of which, 15 works belong to the following categories: Reportage, investigation, interview, documentary, special page, special column ; 11 works belong to the Forum category or forum-like products ; 9 works belong to the Political category (commentary, editorial, essay); memoir ; 3 works belong to the Photo Reportage category; 2 works belong to the News - Photo category and 3 works belong to the Multimedia category .

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Ngoc Hoi expects press agencies to promote production and publication of articles of an analytical, critical nature, and proposing solutions.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Vice Chairman of the Selection Council, in the first quarter of this year, the Organizing Committee received many press works with diverse genres, in which the reportage genre accounted for the majority. The works ensured quality content, objectivity, authenticity and timely and vivid reflection of practical issues of the City; at the same time, they played a good role in social criticism, propagating the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. Thereby, contributing to meeting the increasing information needs of the people, spreading the image of a dynamic, humane, constantly innovating and developing Ho Chi Minh City.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports expressed his hope that in the coming time, in addition to updating outstanding information related to political , cultural and social issues in the area, press agencies will continue to promote the production and publication of analytical and critical articles; proposing practical and feasible solutions and initiatives.

“The organizing committee hopes to receive in-depth and incisive articles revolving around issues arising in the development practice of Ho Chi Minh City. For example, the effective disbursement of public investment capital, application and implementation to promote specific mechanisms for Ho Chi Minh City, innovation of growth models to promote digital transformation, development of knowledge economy , green economy, etc.,” the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports suggested.
