(kontumtv.vn) – Continuing the series of activities of the Pink Dream Summer Camp 2024, on the afternoon of June 24, the Provincial Women's Union organized a meeting to honor the Mother - Child pairs of the "Godmother" Program and awarded prizes for the 2024 Provincial-level Competition for composing communication products to raise awareness of gender equality for children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Responding to the "Godmother" Program launched by the Vietnam Women's Union, from October 2021 to present, Kon Tum province has 147 orphans who have been supported by members and organizations of the Women's Union at all levels and connected with organizations, individuals, and benefactors. There are monthly, quarterly, annual, 5-year support levels, up to the age of 18. Through the program, orphans have an additional family home, with affection, care, and material and spiritual care.

On this occasion, the units receiving assistance and the Mother-Child pairs had the opportunity to exchange and share about the results, experiences, aspirations and difficulties when participating in the "Godmother" Program. Thereby, proposing solutions to improve the quality of the Program in the coming time.

On this occasion, from the funding source sponsored by units and benefactors, the Provincial Women's Union awarded 13 scholarships, each worth 6 million VND; 37 gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND to orphans in especially difficult circumstances.

After 3 months of launching, the 2024 Provincial Competition for Creating Communication Products to Raise Awareness of Gender Equality for Children in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas has received 450 entries. With the theme "Children's Dreams", the content of the entries is very diverse, reflecting a number of issues such as domestic violence, discrimination between boys and girls, early marriage, etc. Thereby expressing the children's dreams of a truly happy living, playing and studying environment. Through the preliminary round, 98 outstanding entries were selected to participate in the provincial final round.

At the program, the Provincial Women's Union awarded First, Second, Third and Encouragement prizes to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in the Contest in the categories of creating media clips/videos, and creating paintings for groups and individuals./.
