DTO - On May 6, in Tan Hong district, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross (CRT) in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Thap province organized the launching ceremony of a series of peak activities for the National "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Giving and Receiving Love".

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Hai Anh - Vice President, General Secretary in charge of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, National Assembly delegate of Dong Thap province; comrade Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Party agencies; representatives of the Provincial People's Council; provincial departments, branches, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of the province; Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities across the country; organizations, units, enterprises, benefactors inside and outside the province; leaders and people of Tan Hong district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Hai Anh - Vice President, General Secretary in charge of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society said that since being allowed by the Central Party Secretariat to organize a pilot program in 2018 and officially implemented from 2021, "Humanitarian Month" has become a symbol of humanity, a movement with profound humanitarian significance of the Vietnam Red Cross Society. Every year, millions of people are connected, shared, supported and thousands of noble acts are aroused, contributing to beautifying humanity in places with many difficulties. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to the provincial leaders, organizations, units, businesses, and benefactors for their interest, support, and companionship in organizing a series of peak activities, "Humanitarian Month" in Dong Thap province.

Comrade Nguyen Hai Anh emphasized that “Humanitarian Month” is not only a special campaign, but also a call to action, urging humanitarian actions for people in difficult circumstances, thereby believing that, from the activities in Dong Thap today, messages of love will continue to spread strongly, inspiring millions of hearts, contributing to fostering a humane society and “Leaving no one behind”.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, emphasized that in recent years, the Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province have paid attention to implementing well humanitarian and charitable activities, contributing to taking good care of the material and spiritual life of people in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances. The works and tasks in the series of peak activities of "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 in the province are the connection, companionship and demonstration of the role and responsibility of sectors, levels, businesses and donors in humanitarian work.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Thang requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, units in the emulation cluster, localities, enterprises and benefactors to continue to accompany, share and support resources for the province to implement humanitarian activities more effectively in the coming time.

The "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 was launched by the Central Committee of the Red Cross Society nationwide, in which a series of peak activities were implemented in the provinces of Dong Thap, Quang Tri, and Dak Lak. In Dong Thap, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize a series of peak activities of the "Humanitarian Month" for 2 days, May 5-6, 2025, in the districts of Tan Hong, Thanh Binh, Thap Muoi, Lap Vo, and Lai Vung with many contents such as: Seminar on "Corporate social responsibility for humanitarian work in the locality today"; handing over 35 Red Cross houses, starting construction of 23 new Red Cross houses for poor and near-poor households; giving gifts to 40 policy families, providing livelihood capital to 20 households in difficult circumstances; providing free medical examination, medicine, and eye treatment consultation for 1,000 poor and disadvantaged people...

Speaking in response to and implementing the peak activities of the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association Nguyen Huu Thoi said that the Provincial Red Cross Association is committed to allocating and using resources supported by enterprises, organizations and individuals in a timely manner, with the right content and target, and ensuring publicity and transparency. At the same time, he requested that cadres, members, volunteers and youth of the Red Cross at all levels in the province strive and compete to achieve achievements in successfully implementing the targets and activities of the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 in the province so that "No one is left behind".


People in difficult circumstances in Tan Hong district received free medical examination and medicine at the launching ceremony.

At the ceremony, in response to the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; many organizations, businesses, individuals inside and outside the province and the provincial and municipal Red Cross Society presented a symbolic board of funding resources to carry out humanitarian works and tasks in the province with a total value of more than 55 billion VND. The provincial Red Cross Society presented a symbolic board allocating resources to Tan Hong district to implement works and tasks in response to the "Humanitarian Month" in 2025 with a total value of more than 4 billion VND. In addition, the Organizing Committee of the launching ceremony also carried out many meaningful activities such as: medical examination, medicine provision, free haircuts, "0 VND" market to support rice and necessities for poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances and giving gifts to 20 policy families in Tan Hong district... On this occasion, 1 individual was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 2 groups and 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
