Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoai Nam shared that professional military Major Pham Xuan Dao has a very difficult family situation. His biological mother is old and has heart disease, his biological father is a 3/4-class disabled veteran; his wife is a junior high school teacher but is in poor health, has many illnesses, and often has to be treated in hospitals. The family's income depends on the salary of both husband and wife, while their income is very limited.

Enlisted in March 1999, professional soldier Pham Xuan Dao is a driver of Truong Son Branch 28, Army Corps 12. Due to the specific mission of Army Corps 12 (Truong Son Construction Corporation), since joining the army, professional soldier Pham Xuan Dao often has to work far from home, far from the unit headquarters, participating in construction on projects from Buon Tuasar Hydropower Plant (Dak Nong), Lai Chau Hydropower Plant, National Highway 78 connecting Le Thanh - Gia Lai border gate to Cambodia, Ho Chi Minh road in Quang Ninh - Quang Binh district, to That Khe - Lang Son border patrol road...

Despite always trying hard, being dedicated to his work, and completing all assigned tasks well, life is still difficult. The small family of professional military major Pham Xuan Dao is living with his parents in a level 4 house that was built a long time ago and is now degraded; however, due to difficult conditions, there is no money to rebuild it.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoai Nam said that, faced with the above difficult situation, the Party Committee and Command of Truong Son 28 branch requested the Head of the 12th Corps Command to approve financial support for the construction of comrades' houses with the amount of 80 million VND from the budget of the Corps' "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee.

With the attention of the Chief of the Corps Command and the Party Committee, the commander of Truong Son Branch 28, along with the money saved and borrowed from relatives and comrades, Comrade Dao and his wife rebuilt the level 4 house they were living in, added bedrooms for their 2 children to study, expanded the kitchen, and built additional ancillary works for convenient living with a total amount of 250 million VND.
