TPO - According to the plan, Binh Duong province will allocate a large land fund to build a worthy cultural and sports complex. In particular, it is expected to relocate the provincial stadium (also known as Go Dau stadium) and build a new one in a different location with a different scale, which can meet the requirements of hosting the World Cup football tournament.
On March 31, a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province said that recently, the investment in the construction of key projects of the province, including a number of projects in Thu Dau Mot city, has been paid attention to, included in planning and investment in construction.
However, in terms of scale, Binh Duong still does not have projects of national and regional scale, on par with the economic and social development of the province. Therefore, in the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Binh Duong has determined to invest in cultural and sports institutions of appropriate scale, meeting the increasing demand for spiritual and cultural enjoyment of the people.
Accordingly, Binh Duong plans to relocate the old stadium and build a new provincial stadium with an area of about 20 - 30 hectares (80,000 seats). The new stadium is multi-purpose, capable of organizing football and athletics events to meet the requirements of organizing the National Sports Festival, or organizing competitions in some events of the Southeast Asian Games (Sea Games), hosting international football tournaments (including the World Cup), music festivals, or large-scale cultural and sports activities.
Binh Duong Provincial Stadium is currently located in the center, every time there is a tournament, traffic congestion often occurs in the area. |
With the scale of the stadium as above, Binh Duong needs a suitable land location for the project and surrounding conditions. The proposed construction location proposed by the provincial authorities includes two options. Option 1 is to arrange the land in Tan An ward (Thu Dau Mot city). Option 2 is on Vo Van Kiet street (Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city). Of these two options, the authorities assess the location on Vo Van Kiet street as more feasible.
In addition, Binh Duong plans to relocate the old Provincial Cultural Center and build a new one with a scale of 2 to 3 hectares (next to the new construction site of the Provincial Political School) on Hung Vuong Street in Hoa Phu Ward (Thu Dau Mot).
Also at this location, Binh Duong plans to build a new Provincial Library and Museum in the direction of a digital, smart library and museum.
Also according to the plan, Binh Duong plans to build a multi-purpose theater (music, dance and symphony) with a capacity of about 1,500 seats (the construction location is expected to be at the roundabout behind the Provincial Administrative Center Building) to meet the needs of professional cultural and artistic performances to serve the people and international cultural and artistic exchange activities of the province.
One of the two land locations expected to be eligible for the construction of a new stadium is located on Vo Van Kiet Street, adjacent to Harmonie Golf Park. |
At Thu Dau Mot Park (Hiep Thanh Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), Binh Duong plans to build a Temple of the Hung Kings to meet the people's desire to practice the worship of Hung Kings, creating a foundation for building a local culture rich in national identity, civilized, modern, developing in the direction of industrialization, while promoting the movement of returning to the source to remember the tradition of building and defending the country.
At the same time, Binh Duong province also plans to build a statue of President Ho Chi Minh at the square of Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center.
