More than 11,000 Da Nang students take 10th grade exam in hot weather

TPO - On the first day of the exam, the weather in Da Nang was hot. Many parents took their children to the exam site early, but the sun was already blazing hot.

This morning (June 2), more than 11,000 candidates in Da Nang entered the 10th grade public high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

This year, Da Nang has 11,854 candidates registered to take the entrance exam to public high schools. The quota for public high schools is 10,296 students, the quota for the regular education system is 714 students. The city has organized 26 exam sites with nearly 500 exam rooms and 2 exam sites for candidates taking the entrance exam to Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. Photo: Thanh Hien

On the first day of the exam, the weather in Da Nang was hot. Many parents took their children to the exam site early, but the sun was already blazing hot. Ms. Huynh Thi Hoa (Hai Chau district) shared that she was quite worried because she was afraid that the weather would affect her child's health and mood during the exam days.

Candidates arrived at the exam site with bottles of water in hand. “In the morning, in addition to papers and pens, my child brought with him, I also prepared water, tore off the label on the bottle for him to bring into the exam room. In such a hot weather, sitting in the room for two hours doing the exam will definitely need water. Hopefully the weather will be cooler in the next subjects so that the children can take the exam more comfortably,” said Mr. Ngoc Lam (Hai Chau district).

At the school gate, teams of volunteers were present to cheer and support the candidates. They also gave out water for the candidates to bring into the exam room.

Da Nang weather is hot from early morning. Candidates cover themselves from the sun at the exam site.

Weather forecast, today Da Nang is hot at 37 degrees. According to the National Hydrometeorological Station, widespread heat in the Central region will last for many days, the highest temperature is commonly 35-37 degrees, some places over 38 degrees.

The hot and humid weather has parents worried about the impact on their children's travel and exam preparation. In the first exam session, students will take the Literature test, which will last 120 minutes. In the afternoon of the same day, they will take the Foreign Language test, which will last 60 minutes.

This year, many public schools in Da Nang have a high number of candidates registering for their first choice, such as: Phan Chau Trinh High School with nearly 1,900 candidates (target 1,218); Hoang Hoa Tham High School with 535 candidates (target 462); Hoa Vang High School with 527 candidates (target 378).
