Ministry of Public Security starts construction of housing for the poor in Quang Tri

The Deputy Minister of Public Security and the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee presented symbolic keys and 12 gifts from the Minister of Public Security to 12 households in difficult circumstances in Huong Hoa district.

On the afternoon of March 17, in Huong Hoa district, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with Quang Tri province and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to organize a ceremony to present model houses, support funds, start construction and launch the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

Responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister , continuing the activity of donating 200 houses to the poor in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts (Quang Tri province) in 2024, from the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Public Security has mobilized support to build 1,143 more houses for the poor and meritorious people who are having housing difficulties in Quang Tri province.

This is a prefabricated house model that has been adjusted to better suit the geographical conditions, weather, customs, and living habits of local ethnic minorities and has a lifespan of over 10 years.

With the 80 billion VND capital support from the Ministry of Public Security and capital from the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas, the Director of Quang Tri Provincial Police Department has mobilized all officers and soldiers to support 1 day's salary and workday support so that the new houses can be completed before June 30 and handed over to the people for use.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, congratulated the households who received the houses and hoped that after having a new, spacious and solid house, the people would strive to overcome difficulties, work and improve their lives, and actively participate in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, contributing to helping the police force ensure security and order at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security expressed his hope that the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, all levels, agencies, departments and branches will continue to join hands, support and join the Government and the Ministry of Public Security in the journey to jointly realize the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.
