The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to study a focal point for management of the food industry.

Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai emphasized that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will manage the production and circulation of food products... in accordance with the functions and tasks of the Ministry.

Previously, on September 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai chaired a meeting with units under the Ministry assigned to manage food safety.

After listening to the reports of the General Department's leaders, Departments and Offices on the implementation of state management tasks on food safety according to their assigned functions and tasks in the past time, Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai highly appreciated the results of the Departments and Offices in state management of food safety according to the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, especially the General Department of Market Management because this is a very important force, directly following the grassroots, directly doing the work of inspecting and controlling the market, fighting against trade fraud, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin...

The Deputy Minister requested that in the coming time, the units need to further improve the state management of food safety. Currently, the Law on Food Safety is being proposed for amendment by the Ministry of Health , so the Deputy Minister requested the General Department of Market Management, Departments and Divisions to carefully consider and review the contents under the state management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Law on Food Safety; from there, propose the contents that need to be amended.
