The training course took place over 4 days (from September 9 to 12), focusing on 7 topics: Overview of Vietnam's ethnic minorities; the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs; laws and policies of the State on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas; building a strong grassroots political system in ethnic minority areas; State management of ethnic minority culture; national defense and security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; The Army's participation in resolving complicated cases.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Doan Dinh Tranh, Deputy Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized that training and updating knowledge about ethnic groups for officers and professional soldiers is extremely important, helping cadres improve their understanding and knowledge of the customs and practices of ethnic minorities in border, sea and island areas.
