An Giang Provincial Border Guard summarizes border work in the first 6 months of 2025

In recent times, the situation of national border security and sovereignty has been stable, political security and social order and safety in the border area have been maintained. Strictly maintain combat readiness regime according to regulations; do a good job of internal political protection; ensure training content, time and number of troops according to plan. Maintain good relations with the authorities and border protection forces opposite Cambodia in border management and protection; effectively combat all types of crimes.

Thereby, the unit arrested 1 case, 1 subject of illegal drug trafficking and transportation, seized more than 22kg of various types of drugs; independently arrested 27 cases, 22 subjects of smuggling and trade fraud, with the value of the exhibits being about 26.7 billion VND; arrested 2 cases, 3 subjects of illegal trading, transporting, storing, and using of weapons, explosives, and fireworks, seized about 383kg of fireworks; arrested and handled 59 cases, 85 subjects of illegal entry and exit...The President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam awarded the Second Class Feat of Arms Medal to the collective of the Provincial Border Guard Command and 2 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

The entire force promotes the implementation of movements, programs, and models to participate in economic , cultural, and social development in border areas, such as: The emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guards", "Godmother", "Border spring - warm the hearts of villagers", "Accompanying women in border areas", "Charity rice jar"... with a total implementation cost of more than 4.6 billion VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep (Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard) launched a high-level emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2; welcome the 11th National Emulation Congress for Victory of the Whole Army, the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of An Giang Province; Congresses of Party Committees at all levels towards the 14th National Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The emulation theme "Raise the August red flag - Emulate to win 3 firsts", includes: Highest will, awareness, responsibility; performing political tasks with the highest results; building discipline, law enforcement, strictest discipline... In particular, focusing on doing a good job of merging 2 units (Border Guards of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces), preparing for many heavy tasks in the last 6 months of 2025.

On this occasion, the unit organized a conference to announce and hand over decisions on personnel. Specifically, the officer rank was promoted from lieutenant colonel to senior colonel for comrade Phan Huu Thuc (Head of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control), Bui Cong Cuong (Chief of Office), Dinh Van Quyen (Deputy Chief of Staff), and the salary was increased for lieutenant colonel Pham Van Du (commune-reinforced cadre). In addition, decisions were handed over to transfer 18 comrades to the provincial border guards to work; transfer and appoint commanders of departments under the Border Guard Command (under the new An Giang Provincial Military Command); and transfer decisions were handed over to many professional soldiers to work at grassroots units.

Previously, on June 21, in Hanoi, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command held a conference to announce the decision to dissolve 44 provincial and municipal border guard commands. Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh (Commander of the Border Guard of An Giang Province) was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Border Gate Department of the Border Guard. Comrades in the Border Guard Command of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces were handed decisions on the transfer and appointment of personnel of the Border Guard Command under the Military Command of An Giang Province (new).
