The morning session of July 17 ended with an increase of more than 18 points of VN-Index, bringing the index representing the Vietnamese stock market to 1,493.63 points.
The excitement of cash flow contributed to strengthening the growth momentum, especially thanks to the real estate group when many codes increased sharply, even reaching the ceiling.
Notably, Novaland 's NVL stock stood out with an impressive increase in both price and liquidity. At the end of the morning session, NVL still had a ceiling price buy surplus of more than 11 million units.
In more than two hours of morning trading, the total matched volume of this code reached more than 50 million units, more than double the average level of the whole session last week. After increasing to the limit, NVL's market price rose to 16,400 VND/share.
Recently, Novaland announced that it will hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in 2025 on August 7, with the expected content being a plan to issue individual shares to convert a debt of VND 2,645 billion, restructure the company and improve the financial situation.
Besides NVL, many other real estate stocks also increased to the ceiling such as VHM of Vinhomes, CEO, while VIC of Vingroup , DIG, PDR... all increased by over 3%.
In a quick exchange with Tuoi Tre Online right after the session, an analyst from Agribank Securities (Agriseco Research) said that today's increase continued to be led by large-cap stocks such as VIC, VHM and VCB. After the early week fluctuations, cash flow is returning strongly to the banking, securities and real estate groups.
According to Agriseco Research experts, real estate - a group that has not increased much in the previous period - is becoming the new leading industry of the market in the last two sessions.
However, experts warn that the rapid increase may lead to short-term risks, especially on the derivatives expiry date. Profit-taking pressure may appear when the VN-Index moves towards the historical peak of 1,480-1,530 points.
"New purchases should be prioritized during corrections, focusing on stocks that are still in the process of accumulation and waiting for cash flow, such as the current real estate group," experts recommended.
Previously, the trading session on July 16 also recorded the VN-Index increasing by nearly 15 points, with cash flow spreading positively across most industries.
Commenting at the end of the session, VCBS experts warned that the derivatives expiration session today could cause fluctuations in the session. Therefore, investors should closely follow market developments, avoid chasing after strong increases and consider disbursing new groups of stocks that attract cash flow such as real estate, public investment, and energy during market fluctuations.
