At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien - Head of the Vietnamese delegation, affirmed that Vietnam is currently a dynamic and responsible member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) and an attractive destination for global strategic investors.
Therefore, the Vietnamese Government is constantly striving to improve institutions, reform administrative procedures, increase policy transparency, and improve enforcement capacity with the goal of creating a favorable, transparent, and safe investment and business environment, ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of foreign investors in accordance with international commitments.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien called on the US-APEC Business Alliance to strengthen investment cooperation with Vietnam, building a substantive, harmonious and sustainable economic-trade partnership between the two countries. |
Sharing about Vietnam's cooperation priorities in the coming time, the Minister said that Vietnam gives high priority to strategic cooperation areas such as: Semiconductor technology, supporting industry, renewable energy, digital economy, innovation, artificial intelligence... and especially service areas with high added value.
The Minister also discussed and answered a number of issues that US business representatives were concerned about regarding Vietnam's investment and business environment, measures to promote the investment and business environment, develop trade cooperation; resolve a number of obstacles, create maximum convenience for businesses in production and business activities... of enterprises of the two countries; including the issue of exchanging and negotiating with the US side on tax policies, continuing to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Immediately afterwards, on the morning of May 15, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien had a working session with Ms. Ngozi Iweala - WTO Director General and Korean Trade Minister Cheong In-kyo.
