Strengthening cooperation programs between the Chess Federations of Vietnam and Azerbaijan

On the morning of May 15, at the Vietnam Sports Department, representatives of the Vietnam Chess Federation had a reception for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdhizade.

Welcoming the Ambassador and his colleagues to visit and work at the Federation, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang - Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation expressed his joy when receiving the promise to help Vietnamese Chess from the Ambassador.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang presented a commemorative shirt to the Ambassador.

Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang hopes that the Ambassador and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Vietnam will be the bridge to establish a cooperative relationship in the field of training and fostering the team of Vietnamese Chess coaches and athletes; Chess competitions between the two countries; learning and sharing experiences about the Chess in Schools program (which has been implemented very successfully in the Republic of Azerbaijan)...

Expressing his sincere thanks to the Vietnam Chess Federation for taking the time to welcome the delegation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdhizade said: he personally plays Chess every day, he highly values this cooperation and will help the Vietnam Chess Federation connect with the Azerbaijan Chess Federation as well as the Heydar Aliev Foundation to concretize cooperation programs.

This is good news for Vietnamese Chess, an opportunity for young talents of Vietnamese Chess to receive sponsorship and support from the Heydar Aliev Foundation. Hopefully, with the help of the Ambassador, Vietnamese Chess will receive practical sponsorship, go into depth and achieve remarkable development in the near future.

Hopefully in the near future, Vietnamese Chess will receive more support and cooperation from the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.

The Republic of Azerbaijan with its capital Baku is known as the home of the world's most famous Chess Academies. The Azerbaijan Chess Team is always in the top 10 strongest teams and owns leading names such as: Super Grandmaster Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Grandmaster Teimour Radjabov, Grandmaster Gadir Guseinov, Grandmaster Rauf Mamedov... and Chess has always been the pride of this West Asian country.
