On August 5, in Hanoi, the National Data Center (NDC - Ministry of Public Security ), the National Data Association (NDA), Vietnam Television (VTV) and Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) officially announced the launch of the "AI in action" competition.

This is the first Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition held on national television, aiming to discover and nurture technology talents, develop Vietnamese AI core technology, promote the AI ecosystem and contribute to realizing the goals in the National Digital Transformation Strategy.

The competition will be broadcast on multiple platforms from television to digital platforms and social networks, creating an attractive and large-scale real-life playground for the technology community across the country.

In particular, the contest format was developed by Vietnamese AI technology experts. The contest platform is a technology product registered by the Organizing Committee for trademark protection as well as intellectual property protection in Vietnam and the United States, contributing to increasing transparency and absolute fairness for contestants.

The contest is a concrete action, bringing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo into life with the goal of "taking people and businesses as the center, the subject, the main resource and driving force", while affirming the leading and promoting role of the State in creating the most favorable conditions for technology development.

This is not only a playground in the field of artificial intelligence but also an important political task demonstrating strong and synchronous determination from the Central Government to ministries, departments and branches in creating new momentum for breakthrough development of the new era.

By creating a highly specialized competitive environment, the competition will promote the formation of open source AI platform models for Vietnamese, open data sets, develop high-quality human resources, promote the formation and development of an innovation ecosystem in the data industry and especially AI enterprises, directly contributing to the strategic goals set by the Party and Government .

Speaking at the Launch Ceremony, Head of the Special Topics - Science and Education Department, Vietnam Television Nguyen Thu Ha shared: With "Practical AI", the Organizing Committee not only creates an attractive television program but also creates a comprehensive ecosystem, where young talents are exposed, breakthrough ideas are nurtured and AI technology is brought closer to life.

This is a strategic collaboration between the national media agency, government data management agency, professional associations and leading technology experts, demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to mastering technology and opening up a prosperous digital future.

The "AI in action" contest is also a pioneering activity, strongly responding to the "popular digital literacy" movement launched by the General Secretary, with the goal of popularizing digital knowledge and skills for all people, to build a society that is not only rich in knowledge but also rich in technological power.

Through companion programs, workshops, unitours and widely broadcast knowledge dissemination content, "Practical AI" contributes to making high-tech concepts closer and more useful to everyone.

Representing the Ministry of Public Security - the sponsor of the contest, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center, said: The "AI in action" contest is an extremely practical action contributing to realizing the major policies of the Party and State on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, especially AI.

This contest is not only a creative act to carry out the digital transformation task but also an intellectual playground where young people, scientists, and technology experts demonstrate their talents and abilities, and at the same time, it is a place to discover and nurture outstanding talents, contributing to building high-quality human resources for artificial intelligence as well as areas identified as priority development focuses.

The National Data Center hopes that through the competition, contestants will have the opportunity to access, experience, and apply the most modern AI technology to solve practical problems; thereby, improving their skills, knowledge, creative thinking, and teamwork ability. This is also an opportunity for students, scientists, and technology experts to exchange, learn, share practices, and connect with leading domestic and foreign technology businesses and organizations.

The contest also helps the country find and attract many talented experts in the field of AI, contributing to Vietnam producing many "Make in Vietnam" science and technology products.

The National Data Center, as the national data management agency, is committed to ensuring the security and safety of the system and database for the contest; at the same time, creating the most favorable conditions for contestants to access, exploit and use data legally, effectively and creatively, contributing to building an increasingly strong Vietnamese artificial intelligence ecosystem, deeply integrating with the world.
