Overcoming the sadness from the incident, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's students had a convincing victory over the representative from North Africa with a score of 3-1.
This victory helps the Vietnamese girls to participate in the 17th-20th place match against U21 Chile women, the team that defeated Mexico 3-0 in the 17th-24th place match.
Previously in the group stage, the Chilean U21 women's team was in Group D with strong teams such as Japan and Brazil.
As a result, the South American team beat Bulgaria 3-2 and Tunisia 3-1 but lost 3 matches against Thailand, Japan and Brazil, ranking 5th in Group D.
Chile U21 women's team is also the second South American team that Vietnam U21 women's team has faced at the tournament, previously the team lost 1-3 to Argentina U21 women's team in Group A.
On the rankings, U21 Vietnam is ranked 25th in the world and U21 Chile women's team is ranked 17th in the world.
The match between U21 Vietnam and U21 Chile in the 17th - 20th place round of the 2025 Women's U21 Volleyball World Cup will take place at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow night, August 15.
The winner of this match will face either Canada U21 Women or Dominican Republic U21 Women in the 17th place match, with the loser playing for 19th place.
