- Amidst the hustle and bustle of life and the constant flow of information, there are "women" who always stay close to the scene, going to remote villages to bring honest and timely information to readers.
Journalism is always a tough and arduous profession, especially for women. However, despite the difficulties and obstacles, female reporters still persevere in their profession, bringing quality journalism works.
With over 14 years of working in journalism, reporter Nguyen Thuy Ngan, Lang Son Television, Newspaper and Radio and Television Department (PTTH) has had many experiences with the profession. Ms. Ngan confided: Regardless of the sun, rain or long trips, I am always ready to be there to record timely and accurate information. For me, each time I work is a valuable experience - from staying close to the scene to meeting people in remote areas. The more I travel, the more my passion for journalism grows.
Her persistent efforts at work have helped Ms. Ngan and her colleagues reap some achievements, such as 2 national journalism awards; gold prize at the National Television Festival; Journalism award on science and technology...
As for reporter Tuyet Mai, Print Department, Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station. Starting her career in 2017, up to now, she has had hundreds of trips to remote villages. Ms. Mai said: In her journey of work, each trip brings memorable memories. I will always remember the trip when I had the opportunity to visit the Mong village in Cao Minh commune, Trang Dinh district in 2022. On a motorbike, a colleague and I overcame a long journey with many difficult passes. The trip helped me convey the desire to preserve the ethnic costumes of the people here, a cultural beauty facing the challenges of time. My work was later honored to win the A prize of Lang Son Provincial Journalism Award in the photo category.
It is known that after being posted, the work received positive feedback from viewers, and then received investment attention from authorities in developing traditional cultural preservation clubs, contributing to preserving the precious values of the community.
Along with Ms. Ngan and Ms. Mai, the province currently has nearly 100 female reporters and propagandists working at Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, and the Cultural, Sports and Communications Centers of the districts. The team has conveyed information to readers, truthfully reflecting events and incidents taking place in social life. Since the beginning of 2025, the provincial press agencies and district centers have produced and broadcast about 8,000 news, articles, photos, reports... in which there is a significant contribution from the team of female reporters.
Mr. Phung Van Khiem, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of Literature, Arts and Journalists, commented: In recent times, the team of female reporters in the area has actively disseminated the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life. At the same time, they have truthfully and objectively reflected issues arising in society, providing timely and valuable information to readers, acting as a bridge between the Party and the people, reflecting legitimate needs and aspirations.
Being a reporter is hard, but being a female reporter is even harder because in addition to work, they also have the duty of being a mother and taking care of the family as a wife. To maintain their passion for the job, they always arrange their time reasonably, after each business trip, when completing their tasks, they spend all their precious moments with their families. For them, family is the support, the motivation to continue to overcome all difficulties, and complete the assigned tasks well.
Although the path of journalism is still difficult, it is their love for the job and their desire to contribute that has helped them overcome everything. They not only bring readers authentic information, but also contribute to spreading good things through each film and page, contributing to building the current revolutionary press.
