"From my observation, Bui Alex practices very determinedly. I hope you always keep that spirit. Alex can speak Vietnamese so communication on and off the field is very easy," center back Pham Ly Duc shared at the afternoon practice session on May 31.

This player added: "U22 Vietnam has only practiced 1.5 sessions so far. Therefore, I cannot comment on the ability of the overseas Vietnamese players yet."

Bui Alex is a new recruit of U22 Vietnam in the second training session in 2025. Similar to Viktor Le, Alex plays as a midfielder and striker. He is introduced as having a technical playing style, but has only played in the lower league of the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, Viktor is in his third V-League season. And he made his mark with the U22 Vietnam coaching staff at the CFA Team China friendly tournament in March, with 1 assist after 3 starting matches.

When asked about his physical condition, midfielder Pham Ly Duc also said that he is in good shape and ready to compete for a position in the defense of the Vietnam U22 team. In July, the team will compete in the final round of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Indonesia.

"After 2 months of rehabilitation, my health is very good. My legs can function normally," Ly Duc said.

Ly Duc has not yet trained with the Vietnamese team.

Pham Ly Duc and Dang Van Toi are two additional defenders called up to the Vietnam national team after the injuries of Bui Hoang Viet Anh and Nguyen Thanh Binh.

However, in the afternoon practice session on May 31, Ly Duc did not receive instructions from coach Kim Sang Sik and still practiced with the Vietnam U22 team. In March, he was a new recruit for the Vietnam national team.

The Vietnamese national team is still not complete. In the afternoon of the same day, coach Kim had to promote goalkeeper Cao Van Binh from the U22 team to practice with Tran Trung Kien. This is because Nguyen Filip has not joined the national team, and Nguyen Dinh Trieu is unexpectedly absent.
