The 2nd Walking on the Clouds Mountain Climbing Tournament will gather 100 athletes who are journalists and reporters from news agencies across the country. |
Participating in this tournament, athletes will have to overcome a distance of about 12 km of mountainous road to conquer Ta Xua peak (Tram Tau - Yen Bai). Ta Xua mountain is located in the south of Hoang Lien Son range, bordering Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province and Bac Yen district, Son La province.
The starting point is at the foot of the mountain (in Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district) and the destination is Ta Xua peak, at an altitude of 2,865m above sea level, one of the highest mountain peaks in Vietnam.
On the journey to conquer Ta Xua mountain peak, athletes will experience the feeling of sublimation when conquering steep paths, crossing the ancient Rhododendron forest covered with moss.
One of the highlights of the journey is the "Dragon's Spine" - a narrow and long mountain range, hidden in the sea of clouds like a giant dragon's spine. This will be a challenging stretch of road, requiring athletes to have courage and solid climbing skills. However, when overcoming this stretch of road, athletes will enjoy an extremely impressive scene with white clouds floating, covering the valleys below, creating a magical and majestic natural picture.
Conquering Ta Xua peak is a wonderful experience, not only to challenge yourself but also to enjoy the wild natural beauty of the country. Every step on this journey will bring memorable emotions and unforgettable memories.
Not only participating in the competition, the athletes also immersed themselves in the space of the Tram Tau District Ethnic Culture Festival. Along with that, there were a series of special activities such as: Ethnic costume performance; Local agricultural product booths of 12 communes; Traditional handicraft display; Mong flute making art performance; Competition and exchange of traditional ethnic sports; Exploring Cu Vai Village, located on a high mountain top, covered in fog all year round. Cu Vai in Thai means "a strip of cloud across the sky", hiding the peaceful and poetic beauty of this small village.
In particular, the Organizing Committee will deploy “0 VND” booths with thousands of products such as: clothes, warm blankets and some essential consumer goods for people coming to the festival to experience and shop for goods at “0 VND”. This is a practical and meaningful activity, promising to become one of the highlights of the program.
The first prize for both men and women includes a championship cup, gold medal, certificate of prize money and gifts worth 35 million VND.
The second prize for both men and women includes a silver medal along with a certificate, prize money and gifts worth 25 million VND.
The third prize for both men and women includes a bronze medal along with a certificate, cash prize and gifts worth 20 million VND.
Along with three consolation prizes for men and women worth 5 million VND along with certificates.
With the success of the 2023 season and careful preparation for the 2nd Ta Xua Peak Climbing Competition in 2025, the organizing committee of "Steps on the Clouds" hopes to further contribute to the prosperity and development of tourism in the potential highland district of Tram Tau.
Previously, in September 2024, due to unusual weather developments and severe consequences caused by Typhoon Yagi, the whole country was focusing on relief work and overcoming the consequences of the storm.
Yen Bai is one of the places that suffered heavy human losses. The painful losses are still present every day and cannot be erased here.
Organizing the Tournament at that time was not really suitable from the perspective of humanity as well as its social effectiveness. The safety of athletes and humanity were the top priorities of the Organizing Committee, which were prerequisites for the successful organization of the Tournament.
Also for the above reasons, on September 22, 2024, Tram Tau District Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1461/CV-HU on stopping the organization of commemorative activities and the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the District Party Committee and the establishment of Tram Tau district.
