Uncle Ho's Monument Visiting His Hometown in Sen Village is about to be inaugurated

From May 10 to 19, 2025, the Sen Village Festival - one of the important cultural and political events of Nghe An province - was held on a national scale in Vinh City and Nam Dan District, celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

The festival is an opportunity for people across the country and international friends to express their deep gratitude and infinite respect for President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader, national liberation hero, and outstanding cultural celebrity. This is also an opportunity to honor Uncle Ho's ideological, moral, and style values; contributing to educating the young generation about patriotism and revolutionary ideals.

The 2025 Lotus Village Festival will open at 8:00 p.m. on May 15 at Kim Lien Commune Stadium, Nam Dan District (Nghe An).

Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, said that this year, the Sen Village Festival will inaugurate the Statue of Uncle Ho Visiting His Hometown. The statue was made by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with Nghe An province. The Statue of Uncle Ho Visiting His Hometown is located at the Sen Village Stadium, Kim Lien Commune, where Uncle Ho met and talked intimately with his hometown people during his second visit to his hometown in 1961. The statue is made of hydraulically pressed bronze using modern technology, recreating the simple and friendly image of Uncle Ho during his visits to his hometown. With a height of more than 10m (the statue is 7.9m high), the project promises to become an important cultural and historical symbol of Nghe An.

The monument is not simply a work of art but also a sacred symbol, expressing the morality of "remembering the source of water", the deep gratitude of the People's Public Security force and the people of the whole country to the beloved leader of the nation.

In addition, on this occasion, the Organizing Committee will inaugurate the 9-storey waterfall project at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, Dong Tranh mountain, Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district. The 9-storey waterfall project aims to pay tribute to the birth and upbringing of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - the mother who gave birth to President Ho Chi Minh. The completed project will add to the overall landscape, increasing the attractiveness for tourists to visit and visit the tomb; Contributing to the propaganda and education of patriotic traditions and national pride, especially for the younger generation.

This year's Lotus Village Festival opens with the theme "Monument in millions of hearts". The opening night will feature a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display. The event also includes programs such as the Lotus Village Singing Festival; a photo exhibition of ASEAN countries and people; a film week about Uncle Ho; an exchange between film artists and film crews about Uncle Ho in Nghe An; the 29th National Wrestling Championship in 2025...

With deep meaning and elaborate preparation, the 2025 Sen Village Festival is not only a great festival for Nghe An people but also an opportunity for every Vietnamese person to turn to their roots, foster national pride and learn and follow the great moral and ideological example of President Ho Chi Minh.
