BHG - On the basis of Resolution 19-NQ/TU of the province, it has created solid steps in the work of preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the UNESCO Global Geopark of Dong Van Karst Plateau; affirming the determination of the locality and the consensus of the community in developing the Karst Plateau region.

Immediately after Resolution No. 19-NQ/TU, dated November 26, 2021 on the conservation, restoration and promotion of the value of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 (Resolution 19-NQ/TU) was passed, departments, branches and local authorities closely coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to issue directives and instructions. These documents help to carry out the task of conserving and developing the Global Geopark in accordance with UNESCO criteria, while flexibly resolving issues arising during the implementation process. In particular, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has actively promoted and raised public awareness through training andeducational programs. The contest "I am a tour guide" held in schools not only helps students better understand the value of the Karst Plateau but also arouses pride and responsibility in preserving the heritage. Introducing the code of conduct for civilized tourism into schools is also a creative initiative, helping the younger generation to be aware of environmental protection and preserving national cultural identity. These steps have created an important foundation for the sustainable development of the Geopark.

In 2024, the province invested over 41 billion VND to upgrade the infrastructure system in the Geopark area. Notable projects include upgrading the road from Pa Vi to Nho Que 1 River, building the Central Square of Meo Vac District and Uncle Ho Monument Park... Stopovers such as Ma Pi Leng, the Mong ethnic community cultural tourism village in Pa Vi Ha village and the boat dock in the Nho Que 1 hydropower reservoir have all been upgraded to meet the increasing needs of tourists. These improvements help improve the tourist experience, enhance the quality of tourism services and contribute to promoting the local economy .

The province has done a good job in international cooperation, acting as a bridge to promote heritage to the world , such as participating in the 8th International Conference on Geoparks in the Asia-Pacific region in Cao Bang province, Ha Giang has had the opportunity to introduce Dong Van Karst Plateau to international friends. Programs such as online tours on digital platforms aim to promote and introduce Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark to the government, businesses, local communities and tourists of Miné-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark, Japan; connecting travel businesses, tourists and developing the Japanese tourist market; organizing to welcome international delegations to visit, work and survey the Geopark area. Thereby, contributing to creating opportunities for cultural exchange, connecting travel businesses and opening up opportunities for sustainable tourism development.

In addition, the functional sector also regularly inspects and evaluates heritage sites on the region's four main tourist routes to evaluate the effectiveness of ranked relics and scenic spots, geological heritage clusters and cave systems that have been put into exploitation. Inspect limestone quarries for construction materials, construction works, and civil and tourism activities in the vicinity of relics and heritage sites that may affect the natural landscape, environment and operations of tourist sites. From there, propose adjustments to investment in four currently exploited tourist routes to better serve tourists in the 2024-2027 period. At the same time, urge localities to do a good job of preserving and promoting the value of the Geopark heritage according to the criteria and recommendations of the Network experts at the third re-evaluation in 2022. Thereby improving the efficiency of tourism exploitation and protecting natural landscapes, minimizing negative impacts from civil and construction activities.

The results achieved from Resolution 19-NQ/TU have affirmed the importance of building a clear and scientific strategy in heritage conservation. To achieve the planned goals, the province needs to continue to promote the completion of infrastructure, improve the quality of human resources in the tourism industry, ensure the balance between economic development and environmental protection. From there, promote the value of the Dong Van Stone Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, preserve it for future generations.
