BYD launches Sealion 06 2025 from 510 million VND, what's good?

BYD officially launched the new version of the Sealion 06 SUV with 2 versions: pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with prices starting from only 510 million VND.

BYD officially launched the new version of the Sealion 06 mid-size SUV in its home market of China. This model belongs to the Ocean product line with two powertrain options: pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Despite having two different powertrains, the Sealion 06 EV and Sealion 06 DM-i (PHEV) share the same dynamic design language of the Ocean line. The vehicle impresses with its aerodynamically optimized closed front and sharp two-tier headlight cluster.

The car's LED taillights are designed to be connected and the semi-recessed door handles are modern, similar to the BYD Atto2 model that was just launched in Vietnam. BYD offers up to 5 exterior paint colors and 2 interior color options, giving users many choices.

The new BYD Sealion 06 2025 has overall dimensions of Length x Width x Height of 4,810 x 1,920 x 1,675 (mm), with a wheelbase of 2,820mm. Thus, the new Sealion 06 version is much larger than the Sealion 06 model launched in Vietnam in April this year.

BYD's SUV model is equipped with McPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, comes with DiSus-C smart shock absorber system and 235/50 R19 tires. Unladen weight is about 1,890kg.

The cabin of the new Sealion 06 is designed symmetrically, modernly and practically. The center is a 15.6-inch touch screen entertainment screen, digital clock cluster, flat-bottomed four-spoke steering wheel and a center console with 02 cup holders, a knob to adjust the temperature of the refrigerator compartment, a wireless charging dock, and a mini fridge that can hold 4 bottles of water.

Spacious rear seat space with 1,480mm leg and hip room, 142L front trunk and up to 757L rear trunk, expandable to 1,630L when folding the second row of seats.

The EV version is developed on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform, supporting 800V fast charging. The pure EV version has three configurations: two front-wheel drive versions with 227 and 241 horsepower, and a dual-motor AWD version (147 horsepower front, 241 horsepower rear). Battery capacity ranges from 65.28 kWh to 78.72 kWh, providing a range of 520 to 605 km.

Meanwhile, the PHEV version uses the 5th generation DM-i hybrid technology. Powering this version is a combination of a 1.5L gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, for a total capacity of up to 215 horsepower. Users can choose two battery packs for the PHEV version: 18.3 kWh (electric range of 93 km) and 26.6 kWh (130 km). The maximum total operating range reaches 1,670 km thanks to a highly integrated energy management system.

The car is equipped with a MacPherson front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, integrated with DiSus-C smart shock absorption technology. In terms of safety equipment, Sealion 06 has 7 airbags, more than 30 advanced driving assistance features, DiPilot 100 system, NOA support on the highway, NFC smart lock and remote vehicle control via smartphone.

In the Chinese home market, the price of the BYD Sealion 6 2025 is sold for two variants: pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) from 139,800 to 163,800 yuan (about 510.9 - 598.63 million VND), depending on the configuration.
