Thus, with this result, the whole country now has 21 provinces and cities with no more temporary or dilapidated houses - an important milestone in the effort to improve the quality of life for people, especially the poor and vulnerable.
According to an updated report from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions , as of June 7, 2025, the whole country has deployed support to eliminate 205,115 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 147,261 have been inaugurated and 57,854 are in the process of starting or constructing.
Support details are as follows: Housing for people with revolutionary contributions : 28,014 units have been supported, including 18,680 completed units and 9,334 units under construction. Housing under 2 national target programs (sustainable poverty reduction; socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas): 51,529 units have been supported, of which 44,755 units have been inaugurated and 6,774 units are under construction. Housing under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses : 125,572 units have been supported, including 83,826 completed units and 41,746 units under construction.
In addition, some localities such as Lang Son and Tien Giang are still continuing to review and update the number of temporary and dilapidated houses remaining to plan timely and effective support.
This result clearly demonstrates the political determination and synchronous coordination of all levels and sectors in taking care of social security, ensuring people have safer, more stable and spacious housing.
