Singer Quoc Thien accused of copyright infringement of song 'Nameless Love'

Singer Dinh Nguyen (real name: Nguyen Minh Tu Thinh) - representative of TTV Media Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as TTV Company) announced to sue singer Quoc Thien in the intellectual property dispute.

According to singer Dinh Nguyen, in September 2023, TTV Company and musician Le Chi Trung signed a contract to transfer the exclusive recording and performance rights of the song. Nameless love, 5 years duration (2023 - 2028).

In the early stages, the owner allowed singers to cover the song. Nameless Love with the condition of asking permission, only 1 clip can be posted on YouTube and no commercial performance on stage is used.

Quoc Thien - 1 of the cover singers - posted 2 clips on YouTube channel, approved by TTV Company.

In August 2024, TTV Company announced to stop granting performance licenses for the song. Nameless Love with singers who have sung covers. According to TTV, after the above announcement, singer Quoc Thien will still perform in November 2024, January and February 2025.

At this time, musician Le Chi Trung texted directly to request to stop performing, Quoc Thien agreed.

On April 9, Quoc Thien proactively contacted to ask for permission to perform the song. Nameless Love but was rejected by singer Dinh Nguyen. The company claimed that Quoc Thien continued to use this song 3 times in March and April.

On April 26, TTV Company warned of copyright infringement of 2 clips singing the song Nameless Love Legal on Quoc Thien's YouTube channel.

At the end of April, this company filed a lawsuit, requesting the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court to force singer Quoc Thien to stop the infringement and remove all recordings of the song performance. Nameless Love on the TikTok platform; apologize, make public corrections in the press or social networks; compensate for damages including: copyright usage costs, contract value between TTV and Le Chi Trung corresponding to the number of days of violation, lost income from advertising activities; mental costs and costs of making a record.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Court has not yet accepted the case.
