Immediately after the announcement of storm No. 13, fishermen in the coastal areas of Lam Dong province quickly moved their boats to areas to avoid and take shelter from the storm. At the Phan Thiet estuary, hundreds of offshore fishing boats were moved deep into sheltered areas and anchored securely. Local authorities and Border Guard forces were present regularly at the anchorage areas, checking each boat, instructing fishermen to reinforce and ensure safety when the weather turned bad.

Not only at sea, in coastal communes and wards, the authorities are implementing the motto of "going to every alley, knocking on every door, checking every household", promptly informing about the developments and direction of the storm, and at the same time instructing people to reinforce their houses, monitor water levels at estuaries and areas at risk of landslides, in order to proactively prevent and minimize damage caused by the storm.

Lam Dong province has a coastline of more than 190km with nearly 8,300 fishing boats in operation. In the context of storm No. 13 rapidly approaching the mainland, proactively implementing measures to prevent, combat and respond to storms and floods is considered an urgent task, to ensure the safety of lives and property of local people and fishermen.
