Reservoirs in Quang Ngai simultaneously discharge water to regulate floods

QNgTV- Faced with the situation of continuous heavy rain for many days and rising floods on rivers, irrigation reservoirs and Dakdrinh hydropower reservoir (belonging to Dakdrinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company) in Quang Ngai province are increasing water discharge to proactively control water levels and reduce the risk of unsafe construction.

Flood on Tra Khuc River at alert level 3 on November 18

From November 15 to noon on November 19, rainfall in many mountainous areas in the East exceeded 1,000mm, causing floods on the Ve, Tra Khuc, and Tra Cau rivers to exceed the alarm level. Meanwhile, reservoirs in the province are recording rapid increases in water levels and have reached high levels.

Currently, hydropower plants are actively releasing water to keep the dam safe as heavy rain has not abated.

The province currently has 211 irrigation reservoirs, of which more than 180 have reached 100% capacity and are forced to freely discharge spills or operate in a regulated manner.
