Morinaga Nutritional Foods Vietnam Joint Stock Company (MNFV) under Morinaga Milk Group will introduce to the Vietnamese market three major ice cream brands that Morinaga Milk Group produces and trades in Japan, including Pino, PARM and MOW. These three brands have been present for a long time and are very popular in Japan, attracting a large number of customers from children to adults.
Vietnam ice cream market welcomes new brand
MNFV, a yogurt and nutritional supplement company, is implementing a new initiative to bring ice cream products that Morinaga Milk Group has been trading in Japan for many years to Vietnamese consumers.
This activity demonstrates the company’s commitment to its mission: Contributing to “Healthiness” by providing “nutritious and delicious” products utilizing advanced technology accumulated in Japan over the past 100 years. Through this, the company will realize a prosperous society filled with laughter.
The size of the Vietnamese ice cream market reached about 210.67 million USD (equivalent to about 5.2 trillion VND) in 2022 and is expected to expand at an annual growth rate of about 8%, up to 405.51 million USD (equivalent to about 10.1 trillion VND) in 2030.
MNFV will expand its product portfolio by leveraging the development technology, expertise and brand that Morinaga Milk has built over many years in the Japanese market. In addition, the company will develop new sales channels to strengthen its business in the Vietnamese market, where future growth is forecast.
New ice cream products from Morigana Milk brand in Vietnam
The product lines that Morinaga Nutritional Foods Vietnam will launch to Vietnamese consumers include Pino ice cream, PARM Chocolate ice cream, PARM matcha ice cream, MOW Vanilla ice cream and MOW matcha ice cream. All of these products are manufactured in Japan.
Produced and launched in 1976, Pino is a long-standing brand that has been loved in Japan for 50 years. This is a chocolate-covered ice cream for both adults and children.
The name "Pino" comes from its small and adorable cone-like shape, and is a play on words in Italian - Pino means “pine cone”.
Interestingly, the total annual sales in Japan are around 1.3 billion (the brand's total shipments in fiscal 2023), enough to circle the globe. This proves how popular Pino ice cream is in Japan. Volume: 6 pieces, 60ml.
The second product line is PARM, a premium ice cream aimed at adults that has a smooth coating and a creamy interior that melts at the same time, providing a wonderful feeling when eaten. This product has the highest estimated sales value among ice cream bars/sticks in Japan, with sales in 2023 reaching over 4 billion units. Total sales as of fiscal 2023 are over 4 billion units. Volume: 90ml.
MOW is the third product line in this introduction. This is a cup of ice cream with a unique combination of flavors, rich in milk flavor. The vanilla flavor has been awarded the highest award - "Three Stars" in the Superior Taste Award for four consecutive years by the world- famous International Taste Institute. Volume: 140ml.
Ice cream products distributed by Morinaga Nutritional Foods Vietnam will officially be available in Ho Chi Minh City from the beginning of November. Customers will be able to buy the products at 199 stores of Aeon Vietnam Group (Aeon, Aeon Citimart, Ministop). The product price ranges from 32,000 - 35,000 VND.
