How to recognize real or surreal AI-generated videos from Sora
As OpenAI's Sora tool helps anyone create hyper-realistic videos, distinguishing between real and fake (deepfake) becomes a survival skill on social media.

Sora, OpenAI's AI video app, is blurring the line between real and fake like never before. Launched in 2024 and recently upgraded to Sora 2, this tool allows you to create lifelike videos in just a few minutes.
The “cameo” feature inserts a real person's face into the simulated footage, making the video even harder to distinguish. Every video created on Sora iOS has a mobile watermark, a white cloud logo, to help viewers recognize AI-generated content.
However, watermarks can be removed or edited, so this is not an absolute verification method. (Source: CNET) Users can check the metadata to see if the video is AI-sourced. (Source: Canto) OpenAI is a member of the C2PA alliance, so Sora videos always include the “published by OpenAI” attribution.
Just upload your video to verify.contentauthenticity.org and you'll know immediately if it's real or an AI product. Dear readers, please watch more videos: From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
