Improve network access speed, optimize experience on digital platforms

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation with the goal of building advanced, modern digital technology infrastructure with super-large capacity and super-wide bandwidth on par with advanced countries, telecommunications service providers have simultaneously upgraded the minimum package speed and improved transmission quality.

Up to now, all three major network operators in Vietnam, Viettel, VNPT and FPT, have increased Internet speed to at least 300Mbps.

Depending on the purpose of use, Viettel customers can choose new packages including regular packages and high-speed Internet packages integrated with Mesh Wi-Fi solution; Internet-TV360 combo packages; or Internet-Camera packages.

To increase benefits for users, new customers will be equipped with a free Wi-Fi 6 modem by Viettel, helping to access the Internet more smoothly, even when many devices are connected at the same time.

Wi-Fi 6 can reach theoretical speeds of up to 9.6Gbps, nearly three times faster than Wi-Fi 5 (3.5Gbps).

In addition to the Wi-Fi 6 modem, Viettel also offers a Mesh Wi-Fi package, which comes with a coverage extender that helps Wi-Fi cover the entire home, with higher speed and stability through just one Wi-Fi connection point.

With this solution, customers can use Wi-Fi smoothly when moving between areas, floors..., compared to installing independent Wi-Fi hotspot devices currently on the market.

FPT and VNPT also doubled the Internet speed, to a minimum of 300Mbps. Accordingly, FPT customers who register for new Internet services will immediately experience packages with a minimum bandwidth speed of 300Mbps.

Meanwhile, existing FPT customers are upgraded from a minimum bandwidth of 150Mbps to 300Mbps.

Similarly, VNPT's Internet packages are also provided with a minimum speed of 300Mbps, nearly twice the average speed of Vietnam's Internet today.

In particular, customers in areas supporting XGSPON (technology using fiber optic cables to transmit data) have the opportunity to experience technology with symmetrical bandwidth, download and upload speeds reaching a maximum of up to 10Gbps.

Common fixed-line Internet packages in Vietnam range from 100Mbps to 200Mbps. Upgrading bandwidth to at least 300Mbps not only improves network access speed but also optimizes the experience on the digital platform.

From studying, working, entertaining online to doing business online, users will have the opportunity to use the Internet with better quality, meeting the increasing demand as Internet traffic increases.

The fact that telecommunications enterprises upgrade Internet speed without increasing prices supports businesses and individuals to use digital services more effectively, strongly promoting the digital economy, thereby realizing the goal of 100% of households nationwide having access to fiber optic Internet by 2025 as planned in the Information and Communications Infrastructure Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050./.
