The immortal melodies of the Russian genius composer resounded, touching the hearts of listeners in the night "Tchaikovsky Night".
Violinist Sara Dragan conquered Vietnamese audiences with her performance of Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35.
Under the guidance of conductor Orhan Salliel, one of Türkiye's most talented and experienced conductors, the Tchaikovsky concert at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on the evening of April 19 was filled with inspiration and sophistication.
Orhan Salliel is famous for his ability to work flexibly with many major orchestras in the world , with his enthusiastic and emotional conducting style, bringing to the performance a strong source of energy and a great connection between the orchestra and the audience.
Accompanying the orchestra was violinist Chuong Vu, an experienced concertmaster who has held the position of string conductor and concertmaster for many major orchestras in Germany, Austria, the US and Korea. With his calm demeanor and high level of expertise, artist Chuong Vu contributed to the smooth and profound connection between the performances in the concert night.

The program opened with the Overture "The Nutcracker", Op. 71 with its joyful, bustling melodies of the festive season, immediately bringing the audience into a colorful and magical world of music .
Next, violinist Sara Dragan conquered Vietnamese audiences with her performance of Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 – one of the most famous and beloved violin concertos of all time.
After finishing her performance to the enthusiastic applause of the audience, Sara unexpectedly gave a special gift with the work "Erlkönig" in the version of W. Ernst's violin arrangement of Schubert's original Lieder , which is considered one of the most difficult works for the violin. With her superb technique and ability to convey subtle emotions, Sara turned "Erlkönig" into an unforgettable highlight of the concert, making the whole audience hold their breath following every movement of the violin.
Hanoi Symphony Orchestra takes the audience through a range of emotions during the music night
The highlight of the concert continued with Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 – one of Tchaikovsky’s most complex symphonies. The work was performed in its entirety by the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, taking the audience through a range of emotions from calm to intense, from despair to hope, realistically depicting the profound inner struggle that Tchaikovsky conveyed in his music.
Especially in the second movement, the trumpet solo that opens this movement is considered one of the most famous and difficult trumpet solos in the entire classical music repertoire. However, the trumpet artists performed excellently, with skillful techniques and excellent harmony, bringing emotional nuances, from gentle to strong, captivating the audience with every note.
When the last notes rang out, the entire audience stood up and gave a round of applause as a deep gratitude to the artists. The audience also could not forget the explosion of the strings, because each artist "burned" themselves out with Tchaikovsky's endless melody.
The careful preparation, the harmony between the artists and the sincere love of music created a truly sublime Tchaikovsky night.
