According to the pre-feasibility study, the railway line is 20km long, with a total investment of about 30,000 billion VND.

The starting point is from Suoi Tien bus station (HCMC) to Ho Nai 3 commune, Trang Bom district. The entire route includes 12 stations and a 23-hectare depot, serving the gathering of containers and goods.

The proposed route is built along the left side of Highway 1 (South-North direction). The consulting unit also proposed options for elevated and underground routes in some sections through Dong Nai.

According to the consultant, the route passes through many existing residential areas so it can be exploited immediately upon operation. Dong Nai can also plan new urban areas along the route to promote economic efficiency.

The consulting unit recommends that Dong Nai prioritize public investment capital from the province, support capital from the central budget and loan capital (ODA loans or local bond issuance).

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested the units to urgently study capital sources, investment mechanisms and propose specific policies to propose support from the Central Government. The project will be put on the priority list for early implementation.

Mr. Ha also requested that units need to further study the option of building underground railways to ensure urban aesthetics.
