According to the document sent by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on May 20, after the Indian Government agreed to extend the period, the Buddha's relics will be brought to five provinces and cities in Vietnam for people to worship, including: Bai Dinh Pagoda, Ninh Binh (May 21-22); Phuc Son Pagoda, Bac Giang (May 22-24); Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace, Quang Ninh (May 25-28); Chuong Pagoda, Hung Yen (May 28-29); Ngu Hanh Son Pagoda, Da Nang (May 30-June 2).

The Church has surveyed and assessed the conditions for enshrining the relics and discussed with the authorities of 5 localities to ensure security, order, health , fire prevention, and environmental sanitation during the time people come to worship the Buddha's relics.

On the morning of May 21, Buddha's relics were brought from Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam) to be enshrined at Bai Dinh Pagoda. After June 2, they will be brought back to India by special plane.

Responding to the people's desire to visit the Buddha's relics, on May 17, the Prime Minister of Vietnam sent a letter to the Prime Minister of India requesting an extension of the display of Buddha's relics in Vietnam from May 22 to June 2. On May 19, the Indian Government agreed to the proposal, adding 10 days to the display of the relics in Vietnam compared to the original schedule, and at the same time requested Vietnam to support visa extensions for accompanying Indian officials and monks, and to arrange ceremonies and security.

The Buddha's relics are India's national treasures and are enshrined in the National Museum in New Delhi. According to Indian diplomatic regulations, the export of Buddha's relics is equivalent to a state visit by a head of state.
