Attending the meeting and commendation ceremony were comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; veteran journalist Ha Dang, former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Commission.

Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong sent his regards and best wishes to journalists and all press workers nationwide. Recalling the date of June 21, 1925, the President was proud of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and emphasized that in 100 years of formation and development, under the leadership of Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always been loyal and closely attached to the revolutionary cause of the nation, truly contributing to the great, great achievements of historical significance of the country.

In the new era, the Vietnamese press continues to be a responsible, dedicated, honest and sober voice, contributing together with the Party and the people to carry out the Renovation process with profound revolutionary significance. Journalists and journalists have overcome many challenges and difficulties, continued to develop, made efforts to truthfully and promptly reflect the people's life of struggle, labor and creativity, protected and affirmed new factors, soberly and courageously exposed and fought against the bad, evil, degeneration, corruption, waste, negativity...
The President stated that the country is entering a new era with the goal of developing richly, prosperously and happily. The Vietnamese press and journalists have a very heavy task, with increasingly high requirements. To meet the new requirements, the President noted that the press is not only a companion but also a pioneer, a forecaster of the movement and development of life. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh drew an extremely profound lesson: "Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons". That is the most fundamental lesson about the role, qualities and ethics that Vietnamese journalists today and tomorrow need to learn, practice and strive to follow.

The President advised that journalists need to maintain political will, professional ethics, heart, vision and talent; maintain the flame of passion for the profession, be loyal to the Party's revolutionary ideals, to the cause and aspirations of the nation, and be closely attached to the people. This is the highest requirement for journalists and revolutionary journalists.
Journalists and journalists need to renew themselves, strive to truthfully, vividly, and persuasively reflect new developments, the good, the noble, and the kind in life; at the same time, courageously and severely condemn and criticize the bad, the degenerate, the corrupt, the wasteful, the negative, resolutely fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, protect the Party's ideological foundation, and consolidate and strengthen the people's trust.
President Luong Cuong also emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are becoming a strategic pillar. The press must grasp that inevitable development trend, resolutely and urgently innovate comprehensively, synchronously, and in accordance with the specific laws of the press to create press products that reflect the breath of the times, have creativity, and explore new content and methods of expression.
The President requested that central and local agencies proactively coordinate to research, propose, and perfect mechanisms and policies, creating conditions for journalists and journalists to be able to make a living from their profession, love their profession, and feel secure in their commitment to their profession. Along with that, veteran journalists, outstanding journalists and journalists, with their talent, experience, life experiences and professional experience, will continue to contribute to the cause of revolutionary journalism, while also being a spiritual support, imparting experience and creative inspiration to the generations of journalists today and tomorrow.
