Can Tho: Prosecuted driver who resisted and refused to take alcohol concentration test

On November 6, information from Can Tho City Police said that they had just prosecuted Chau Hoang Huong (born in 1986, residing in Cai Khe ward, Can Tho city) related to the act of resisting law enforcement officers.

Accordingly, the subject was prosecuted for investigation for "Using force and threatening to use force to obstruct a person on official duty from performing official duties", according to Clause 1, Article 330, Penal Code 2015 (amended and supplemented in 2017).

Previously, late on November 3, at Hoa Binh Street, Ninh Kieu Ward, Can Tho City, the working group of the Patrol Team (Traffic Police Department, Can Tho City Police) stopped a motorbike with license plate 65B1 driven by Chau Hoang Huong to check the alcohol concentration. However, this driver did not comply and resisted the law enforcement force.

Immediately after that, the working group contacted the Ninh Kieu Ward Police, Can Tho City to support in inviting the subject to the ward police station for questioning. Here, the subject continued to act defiantly, cursed the on-duty force and banged his head against the glass door at the unit.

After many attempts to persuade Huong but she did not cooperate, the working group made a record of administrative violations against Huong for the offense of "Failure to comply with the request to check alcohol concentration of the person on duty; No driver's license" and temporarily detained the vehicle.
