The event was attended by central government leaders, leaders of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces, as well as representatives from institutes, universities, businesses, and experts in the field of science and technology.

With the theme "Can Tho – A Center for Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation," CASTID 2025, taking place from December 16th to 20th, brings together 20 main activities, including forums, scientific conferences, technology exhibitions, and business networking events… aiming to promote the application of science and technology and digital transformation in socio- economic life.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Truong Canh Tuyen, emphasized that the city has always identified science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as core driving forces to enhance competitiveness and promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
In recent years, Can Tho City has issued many policies to promote the application of scientific advancements in key areas such as high-tech agriculture, processing industries, healthcare, education, and the environment. Alongside this, the startup and innovation ecosystem has been continuously strengthened, with the establishment of the Startup and Innovation Center, supporting the development of intermediary organizations, and connecting research institutes, universities, and businesses.

Currently, Can Tho City has 113 science and technology organizations, including 69 public and 44 private organizations. The total number of personnel working in the science and technology sector is 10,693, equivalent to 9.88 people per 10,000 inhabitants.
In 2024, the rate of technological and equipment innovation in Can Tho City reached 14.025%, an increase of 1.005 percentage points compared to 2021. The proportion of high-tech products reached 33.55%, an increase of 2.95 percentage points compared to the same period in 2021, showing a positive growth trend in research and application of high technology in the area.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City hopes that, through the CASTID 2025 event, the city will receive many opinions and suggestions from experts, scientists, and businesses to serve as a basis for building appropriate policies, identifying breakthrough solutions, and realizing the goals in Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of the Mekong Delta region.
CASTID 2025 Exhibition: Connecting and Spreading Innovation
As part of the event, the Can Tho City Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Exhibition 2025 opened that morning at the RLC Building – Can Tho University. The exhibition features over 50 booths, showcasing more than 500 typical products and technologies in various fields: cybersecurity, smart cities, digital finance, medical technology, education, agriculture, tourism, food technology, logistics, etc.

The exhibition is not only a place to honor the intellect, achievements, and contributions of the science and technology community in the Mekong Delta region, but also a forum for connecting, sharing, and cooperating between managers, scientists, businesses, and society, contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation and promoting the development of the digital economy and digital society in Can Tho City.
