Beware of distortions and misrepresentations of the meaning of historical parades.

The spirit of frugal and solemn parades has been maintained by the Party and State since Uncle Ho's time. Don't give inaccurate information because of the emphasis on frugalness.

In recent days, information has appeared on social networks that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once told General Vo Nguyen Giap: “Paracade every 10 years, parade every 40 years”. Some websites even claim that this is a will, a “secret” that has been passed down. Although the purpose of these articles is mainly to emphasize the need to organize parades and military reviews, the unverified information often causes more harm than good.

Along with that, on this occasion, on some websites, the terrorist organization Viet Tan and reactionary forces, political opportunists, as usual, spread false rumors about the military parade, causing unnecessary waste and expense. Some reactionary and political opportunists distorted the great political significance of the organization to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the Fatherland, including the military parade.

However, through researching official documents and looking up Ho Chi Minh's complete works, this content has not been verified, but many sites have quoted it as real and created many clips on social networks.

Promoting the spirit of thrift and fighting waste according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology is good, but arbitrarily creating "advice" like the above is unacceptable. It is also an insult to previous leaders, distorts historical truth, and confuses public opinion.

Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap were people who were imbued with revolutionary ethics all their lives, always upholding the spirit of thrift and opposing formality. When organizing important events such as military parades, Uncle Ho and his leaders always advised: practicality, solemnity, thrift, absolutely no waste. That spirit has been maintained by our Party and State since the founding of the country until now, in all national events.

During his lifetime, Uncle Ho was very interested in military parades and reviews. He met directly with and encouraged soldiers to participate in military parades many times. The military parade during the ceremony welcoming President Ho, the Party Central Committee and the Government back to the Capital on January 1, 1955 was the first time Vietnam organized a military parade.

This historical event was chosen by General Vo Nguyen Giap as the highlight in the conclusion of his memoir Dien Bien Phu - Historical Rendezvous, with emotional lines: “ On January 1, 1955, the Government and the Party Central Committee returned to Hanoi, Uncle Ho met his compatriots again at Ba Dinh Square, where nine years earlier he had read the historic Declaration of Independence. Uncle Ho's smile on the podium will shine forever in the new history of Hanoi following the Dong Do and Thang Long of the past.

We held the first major military parade in Hanoi, a parade in which the army, militia and guerrillas carried only French and American weapons, from light weapons, heavy weapons, to means of communication, all of which were spoils of war captured in combat .

In April 1960, the students of the Quang Yen Artillery Non-Commissioned Officer School (Quang Ninh) were ordered to go to Bach Mai airport, Hanoi to practice for the parade on the National Day of September 2. Uncle Ho visited and encouraged the soldiers. He appeared in a simple and friendly mahogany outfit, with rosy skin and bright eyes, shining with joy. The 18 parade groups in the airport were silent. Announcer Tuyet Mai's voice resounded, reporting the formations of the groups participating in the rehearsal. Standing on the stage, Uncle Ho excitedly looked at the entire line of soldiers. At the end of the session, Uncle Ho kindly instructed the soldiers: This time, you are participating in the parade with many foreign guests. I want you and I to meet each other first, otherwise when you pass the stage, some of you will look up, which will reduce the seriousness.
As for "parade", He only used the word "parade" once in the article "Talking to journalists in Moscow" on November 21, 1957, in which He mentioned the significance of the parade: " Attending the demonstration, we witnessed the excitement of the great Soviet people in the struggle for peace and communism. The parade and demonstration showed us that the people and the army were closely united around the Party and the Government. The presence of hundreds of foreign delegations coming here to attend the October Revolution anniversary was a very meaningful event."

However, President Ho Chi Minh also emphasized: " Saving is not stinginess, it is not "seeing money as the size of a basket", "not doing what should be done, not spending what should be spent".

Therefore, we cannot take advantage of that spirit of thrift to fabricate and conflate words that the leader never said! We cannot distort to sow doubt and erode the people's trust in the Party, Uncle Ho and previous generations.

We criticize the act of fabricating the sacred teachings of Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap.

We request that websites and personal accounts that have posted this false information immediately remove it, make public corrections, show respect for history and responsibility to the community.

Nowadays, social networks develop rapidly, but also contain many risks of information interference.

True patriots must be alert and vigilant, not easily believing in unverified information, especially information related to leaders, history, and national honor.

Check your sources, compare them with official documents. Be responsible in sharing information.

Preserving historical truth is also preserving the solid spiritual foundation of the Vietnamese people.

In the context of the country entering a new period of development, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South - National Reunification, towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam (1945 - 2045), the decision of our Party and State to organize a military parade is completely correct, very necessary, and is supported by all the people.

Today's parade is not for show, but to arouse patriotism, national pride, demonstrate the strength of solidarity and the will to rise up of the Vietnamese people in the new era. It is also a declaration to the world that: Vietnam is a peace-loving but resilient and indomitable nation, always ready to protect independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Looking back at the military parades, the spirit of thrift and solemnity was thoroughly implemented throughout the entire organization process, inheriting the style of Uncle Ho and generations of leaders.

The first military parade under President Ho Chi Minh on January 1, 1955, after the Dien Bien Phu victory, not only declared the strength of the people's army, but also affirmed the mettle of a small but indomitable nation, defeating the most powerful enemies.

Since then, major military parades have been associated with sacred milestones: national reunification, sovereignty protection, and national development.

Today's parade continues that tradition, while also lighting up the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam by 2045.

We parade not only to honor the past, but also to affirm our determination to win in both peace and integration. We need to uphold historical truth, to accurately continue what our ancestors left behind. We must be alert in every piece of information we receive, so as not to be shaken by distorted arguments.

On April 30, Ho Chi Minh City will hold a national parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

According to the Organizing Committee, the national parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification will officially take place at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025, at the same time as the anniversary.

Starting at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, the forces will depart from the intersection of Le Duan and Nguyen Binh Khiem streets, moving through the main stage in front of the Reunification Hall.

At the end of this schedule, the forces will split into 4 directions and move towards the assembly point.

In addition to watching live on the street, people attending the celebration in the central area can watch the parade through 20 large screens.

In addition, people can watch the celebration, parade, and march on television and social media platforms.
