(Dan Tri) - Determined to capture the moment when the roads in Luc Ngan were jammed for several kilometers when the lychee season was in full bloom, Mr. Tran Linh stayed in Bac Ninh for 3 days and 3 nights.

Every year, from the end of May until mid-July, Luc Ngan commune in Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh province) enters the busiest lychee harvest season of the year.

Known as the lychee capital of Vietnam, Luc Ngan lychees when ripe have a characteristic bright red color, thick flesh, delicious sweet taste and small seeds. Along National Highway 31 is where trucks carrying lychees come and go to sell, creating a special lychee market.

In recent years, the blooming lychee season has not only attracted traders, but also attracted many photographers to come and capture the most impressive moments.

Mr. Tran Linh (31 years old) is a photographer and tour guide, currently living and working in Hanoi. He has long cherished the idea of taking photos of the lychee harvest season in Bac Ninh. This year, Luc Ngan lychees are in full bloom, which has further motivated him to set out.

To record these moments, Mr. Linh had to stay in Luc Ngan for 3 days and 3 nights.

He found the most difficult part of getting to the location to be traffic. From 5am to 8am every day, every corner is bustling with trucks carrying fabric to the gathering place to be weighed and sold. At this time, vehicles cannot move because of traffic jams that can last for several kilometers, so Mr. Linh has to work on foot.

During the 3 days, when he had free time, the 31-year-old photographer went to people's houses to help pick lychees, picking the fruit to tie into bunches, and preparing to sell early the next morning.

Early in the morning, rain or shine, the fabric trucks rushed to the weighing station. Linh also joined the crowd to record many memorable moments.

"Trucks carrying bright red lychees appeared one after another, causing traffic jams that stretched for kilometers. It was a scene of hundreds of motorbikes and three-wheeled vehicles standing still in line, waiting to move. Looking from above, the moment the whole road was bright red was a scene I had never seen anywhere else," he said.

After being shared on social media, the photo series immediately received attention, but photographer Tran Linh also had many thoughts. Those were the evenings of eating simple meals with the locals, listening to them share their feelings about the story of "good harvest but low price of lychees".

To cope with this situation, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh is promoting deep processing models such as drying, juicing, and freezing lychees to diversify consumption channels.

Previously, at the end of June, in the series of activities of "Luc Ngan Lychee Week", Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, participated in livestreaming to sell tons of lychees.

In just one morning, the live sessions "closed orders" continuously, selling dozens of tons of lychee to customers in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and many provinces in the Central region...

According to local authorities, this activity aims to promote lychee and local agricultural products to domestic and international consumers; introduce images, lychee production processes and sales methods on digital platforms, promptly respond and accompany farmers in consuming lychee.

According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Ninh province, in 2025, the lychee growing area in the province will remain stable at 29,700 hectares, including 8,000 hectares of early lychee and 21,700 hectares of main-season lychee.

Early lychee harvest time takes place from May 20 to June 15 and main harvest from June 10 to about July 20.

The quality of lychee this year is considered the best ever.

Of which, the province has about 16,000 hectares of lychee meeting VietGAP standards, 204 hectares meeting GlobalGAP standards and 10 hectares of organic production to ensure strict market requirements.
