From March 31 to April 1, the first international conference ENT Masterclass® in Vietnam took place at Hong Ngoc General Hospital, marking an important step forward in the field of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.

This event not only updates advanced treatment methods but also creates opportunities for international connections, promotes cooperation between domestic and foreign medical experts, and opens up opportunities to improve the quality of health care for patients.
In the context of modern medicine, ENT diseases are becoming increasingly complex and require precise, minimally invasive and effective treatment methods.
International experts at the conference shared advanced techniques and valuable clinical experience in treating difficult diseases such as head and neck cancer, chronic otitis media, olfactory disorders and thyroid-related diseases.
One of the topics of particular interest at the conference was thyroid surgery and voice preservation methods. This is a field that requires absolute precision, because the laryngeal nerve, which controls the voice, is very vulnerable during surgery.
At the Conference, Prof. Ahmet O. IKIZ, member of the International Federation of Head and Neck Cancer, shared about the application of nerve probes in thyroid surgery.
This technology allows doctors to monitor and protect vital nerves during surgery, minimizing the risk of injury and preserving the patient's voice. This is a major step forward in surgery, helping to increase the success rate and reduce possible complications.
In particular, the method of endoscopic thyroid surgery through the vestibular-oral route was also presented at the conference. This technique not only helps to minimize surgical intervention, avoid scarring but also limits neurological complications, bringing high efficiency in treating patients with complex thyroid.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Hong Ngoc Hospital, shared valuable experiences about this method, helping to improve treatment effectiveness and ensure aesthetics for patients.
Sinus-related diseases and olfactory disorders are also one of the complex problems in the field of ENT. Professor Claire Hopkins, former President of the British Rhinological Society, presented advanced techniques in the management of olfactory disorders, helping to accurately diagnose and effectively treat these diseases, while improving the quality of life for patients.
In addition, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Huy, Director of the Training and Guidance Center of the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, introduced surgical techniques to treat chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma.
This is a dangerous disease that can lead to hearing loss if not treated promptly. Cholesteatoma surgery not only helps to completely remove the tumor but also prevents recurrence, preserves hearing and minimizes dangerous complications.
ENT Masterclass® is not only an academic event, but also an opportunity for Vietnamese doctors to access new techniques and modern technology in the treatment of ENT diseases. Methods such as intraoperative neuromonitoring and endoscopic surgery are becoming increasingly popular, helping to reduce risks and improve treatment efficiency, especially in difficult surgeries.
During the workshops, doctors not only learned from international experts but also shared practical experiences from Vietnamese doctors. These methods, if widely applied, will help improve the quality of treatment and bring higher efficiency, while reducing costs for patients.
ENT Masterclass® in Vietnam is a testament to the strong cooperation between international and Vietnamese health organizations. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health, shared that international cooperation is the shortest way to bring advanced medical techniques into the Vietnamese health system.
International conferences such as ENT Masterclass® not only help doctors learn new knowledge but also promote the sustainable development of Vietnam's healthcare sector. Participating in these events not only helps doctors improve their skills but also creates strong connections between prestigious medical organizations from developed countries.
The first ENT Masterclass® conference held in Vietnam is not only an opportunity for doctors to update modern medical techniques, but also an important step forward in improving the quality of treatment of complex ENT diseases.
This event has opened up many opportunities for Vietnamese doctors to access and apply advanced techniques, contributing to improving the quality of health care for patients and bringing the Vietnamese medical industry closer to international standards.
Through international conferences such as ENT Masterclass®, Vietnam not only affirms its strong development in the medical field but can also compete on par with advanced countries in the application of modern medical technologies, especially in the treatment of complex ENT diseases.
