At the scene, the road leading to the bridge on the Hoi An side was swept away into the Thu Bon River. The embankment on both sides of the bridge abutment was also damaged, and large areas of land along the bank were washed away. Traffic between Nam Phuoc commune and Hoi An ward on National Highway 14H through this area was cut off.
After the incident, the People's Committee of Nam Phuoc commune reported to the Department of Construction and promptly erected barriers, placed warning signs and temporarily stopped traffic on the bridge to ensure safety for people and vehicles.

Ba Ngan Bridge is more than 200m long and about 3.5m wide, spanning the Thu Bon River, connecting Nam Phuoc commune with Hoi An ward and Dien Ban Dong ward.
For many years, Ba Ngan Bridge has been degraded and cannot meet the current traffic demand, especially for trucks and cars. The narrow bridge surface creates a “bottleneck” causing traffic congestion in the area, especially during rush hour when thousands of vehicles pass by.

The Quang Nam Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (under the People's Committee of Da Nang City) is completing documents and procedures to send to the Department of Construction for appraisal to prepare for the implementation of the project to build a new Ba Ngan bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge. The project is expected to start construction in early 2026, with a total investment of more than 200 billion VND.
