The memorial service was organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province in coordination with relevant units and the victim's family.
Attending the mass were comrade Vu Dai Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, leaders of Quang Ninh province; leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; nearly 100 senior monks, nuns, and representatives of the victims' families, along with a large number of Buddhists and people from all over the country.

The memorial service took place from early morning until 9pm the same day, including traditional rituals to pray for the souls of the victims to be liberated.

With the spirit of "Remembering the departed - For the living", the Great Requiem Ceremony is a profound humanitarian gesture, a traditional spiritual and cultural activity of the nation for not only the 39 victims of the tragic accident on July 19, but also for the victims in Ha Long Bay from the past to the present.
At the same time, the ceremony sends a warning to the whole society about the great losses and damages that each family, community and society must bear due to natural disasters.
