Every Lunar New Year, in the spirit of mutual support and compassion of the Vietnamese people, the entire political system and the community join hands to care for the poor during Tet, helping the less fortunate to celebrate a warmer and happier holiday. Warm gifts, acts of sharing, and the collective efforts of the community have helped the poor and those in difficult circumstances have a more fulfilling and joyful Tet.

Taking care of the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year). Representatives from Thanh Ba district presented Tet gifts to Mrs. Ha Thi Kheo in Zone 4, Thanh Ha commune, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake).

Every year, the program to care for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year), express gratitude, and promote humanitarian charity is given significant attention with various forms of visits, gift-giving, organizing medical examinations and treatment, and providing free medicine... In 2024, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations mobilized agencies, units, and businesses inside and outside the province to donate 266,427 gifts, worth over 115.5 billion VND, to poor households, near-poor households, and households with particularly difficult circumstances during the Tet holiday.

During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee allocated over 4.3 billion VND from the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund to present 8,366 gifts to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the province. The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations mobilized philanthropists, benefactors, agencies, units, and businesses inside and outside the province to donate tens of thousands of Tet gifts, maximizing all social resources to care for the poor and disadvantaged during Tet. This is a practical activity contributing to bringing a loving and warm Tet holiday, giving the poor more motivation to strive for a better life.

Through the Provincial Red Cross Society, benefactors, agencies, and units inside and outside the province have donated more than 30,000 Tet gifts worth over 18 billion VND to poor households, households with difficult circumstances, households affected by Agent Orange, people with disabilities, patients with difficult circumstances suffering from serious illnesses, and households affected by natural disasters in 2024. This Tet holiday, 28 charitable houses were also completed, helping the poor celebrate the Lunar New Year in warm and compassionate homes. In addition to mobilizing Tet gifts through the "Tet of Compassion" program, the Red Cross at all levels also collaborated with units to organize free medical examinations and medicine distribution, build humanitarian houses, provide nutritional support for poor and disabled children, donate school supplies to poor students, give gifts to poor patients receiving treatment at hospitals, and many other practical activities aimed at helping those in difficult circumstances...

Along with local Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and Red Cross societies, political and social organizations, and many agencies, units, and businesses have also been involved in social welfare work in general and caring for the poor during Tet in particular, such as: Through the "Tet to Every Home" Fund established by Phu Tho Newspaper with the support of many businesses, units, and philanthropists, Tet has been brought to the poor, disabled, and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in the province; the "Tet of Love for Children with Cerebral Palsy" program organized by the Provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans in coordination with the Phu Tho Branch of the Family Association of Children with Cerebral Palsy; the "Warmth of Spring - Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025" program with Sacombank ; the "Tet of Love" program of the Provincial Women's Union...

Receiving Tet gifts from the "For the Poor" Fund, Mrs. Ha Thi Kheo, 95 years old, from Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Ba district, emotionally shared: "I am a single mother living in poverty with my younger brother's family. My health is poor, and I have difficulty getting around. Thanks to the attention of all levels of government and the Tet gifts from everyone, I am very happy and grateful."

Tens of thousands of gifts were distributed to poor and disadvantaged households in the area, demonstrating affection, sharing, and a sense of community responsibility to help those in need rise in life and celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 in warmth and love.
