This year's high school graduation exam took place on June 26 and 27. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training , 1,165,289 candidates nationwide registered to take the exam.
In order to ensure publicity, seriousness and fairness in the organization of the high school graduation exam, the Ministryof Education and Training requires that by June 7 at the latest, schools must publicly announce cases of candidates who are not eligible to take the exam. Also within this period, the departments of education and training must update the pre-exam report into the exam management system and send it to the Ministry of Education and Training.
From the number of candidates who have registered and are eligible to take this year's high school graduation exam, the examination councils of the departments of education and training will arrange exam locations and exam rooms for each exam/subject, with the completion date no later than June 11.
This year's high school graduation exam has two groups of candidates.
In particular, the group of candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program must take four exams, including two compulsory exams in math and literature; two exams that candidates choose from among the subjects studied in grade 12, including: Physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, economic education and law, information technology, industrial technology, agricultural technology, foreign languages.

Candidates studying the 2006 General Education Program must take three compulsory exams including literature, math, foreign language and choose one of two exams: natural science (physics, chemistry, biology) or social science (history, geography, civics).
