Electrical short circuit causes fire at gas station in Dat Mui

At around 6:40 a.m. on May 29, a fire suddenly broke out at DN petrol station (Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau province).

Gas station fire fiercely

Initial information said that at the above mentioned time, Ms. T. (the owner's wife) discovered an electrical short circuit at gas pump No. 2 (the gas station has 3 gas pumps), immediately turned off the circuit breaker, used a wet cloth to put out the fire but failed. The fire continued to spread through the gas pumps and then down to the gas tanks.

When seeing the big fire break out, the gas station staff ran outside to escape and shouted for help from the people around.

Upon receiving the news, Dat Mui Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Military Command, Mui Ca Mau National Park, and Dat Mui Border Guard Station to urgently deploy forces and firefighting equipment. By about 7:25 a.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.

Initial determination is that the fire caused property damage of about 200 million VND in cash and many other assets.
